YIMBY - Yes In My Back Yard - let it be known that you support affordable housing in your neighborhood.

Support Elected Officials - Recognize those who publicly commit to enact fiscal and zoning legislation that helps facilitate the building of affordable housing.

Support Political Candidates - Make housing a political issue. Raise the issue at political events such as debates and candidate forums. Encourage candidates to speak out about the need for affordable housing.

Become Informed - Learn about housing affordability issues in Newton. Find out who is affected by the increased cost of housing. Attend educational forums and invite speakers to organizations to which you belong.

Be a Public Supporter - Be an advocate for affordable housing initiatives such as fee waivers, and the utilization of a fair share of Community Preservation Act funds for affordable local housing.

Be Welcoming when affordable housing is built and occupied in your neighborhood. Get to know your new neighbors.
